Anul asta sarbautorim o multime de ciudati - turme de ciudati - in fata carora Lanternativa se inchina fara a simti nevoia de a oferi prea multe explicatii gestului sau. Se inchina si gata. Rothko - 40 de ani de la trecerea in abstract, iar aici, pe blog, il sarbatorim cu muzica. Asam. Si cu o prezentare a catorva dintre cele mai cunoscute tablouri ale sale, intr-un mod mai personal. Ceea ce inseamna ca Lanternativa va ofera o viziune inside a cum intelege / admira ea pictura Maestrului.

Despre ce este vorba? Este vorba despre doua chestiuni:

1. Acest album. Asa cum puteti citi, acest al doilea CD al lui Charles Hayward este dedicat pictorului american.

2. Toate imaginile din acest post au suferit eliberari. Eu le-am eliberat de culori - sincer sa fiu, pentru mine culoarea intr-un tablou este ca versurile intr-o piesa muzicala: de cele mai multe ori ambele duc totul la ruina! Nu te lasa sa te concentrezi pe esential. Asam.

In seria dedicatiilor lui Rothko mai exista un album fenomenal (exista ele mai multe, dar doar pe acestea le am in colectie): Bernhard Günter - Brown, Blue, Brown On Blue (For Mark Rothko):

Liner Notes Brown, Blue, Brown on Blue is dedicated to my favorite painter, Mark Rothko, and its title is taken from one of his paintings that accompanied me for a long time as a framed print hanging beside my bed. I finally got a chance to actually see this painting in a retrospective of Rothko’s work at the Musée de l’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris in 1999, and was more deeply touched by it than I can express in words. These strong feelings have found their way into the composition I started working upon returning from Paris. The composition is not intended ( and cannot ) describe the paining itself, but certainly reflects the strong emotions it inspired. The itinerary the piece takes is, in some respect, a reverse mirror image of the development of Rothko’s work during his lifetime: Rothko began his characteristic style with bright colors and ended in dark grays and black, while my piece begins with rather dark, mourning sound colors and ends in a kind of celebration of his greatness as an artist and the heritage of wonderful works he has left us.
