Michael & Winifred Bixler

Pe Lante am vorbit de-a lungul anilor despre Arion, The Fine Press Book Association, The Whittington Press.

New York by Gehry

…high-rise with undulating waves of stainless steel that reflect the changing light, transforming the appearance of the building throughout the day:

Speaking about stainless steel and its contemporary use in architecture, I’ve found an interesting quote about it*:

“The clean materiality befitting a new age of electricity, steel and glass became identified with modern forms of embodiment: a clean, minimalistic yet very powerful one.” Steel and glass are today’s maybe the most privileged materials in architecture expressing a

“miraculous materiality, a secularized version of the Christian theology of glorified bodies according to which the chains that bind matter and human bodies to the corrosive effects of time are shed through the activation of a higher potentiality”

In New York, the great apartment houses of the 1920s, buildings the cognoscenti know so well that they identify them only by numbers such as “834” (834 Fifth Avenue), “778” (778 Park Avenue), “1040” (1040 Fifth Avenue), and, the noblest of them all, “740” (740 Park Avenue), which happens to have been built by James T. Lee, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’s grandfather, have a kind of holy aura that comes, I think, from their nearly perfect equilibrium of social status and understated architectural quality.

Mai jos, cateva detalii din the identity and print promotion:

The portfolio contains a series of individual brochures describing various aspects of the building and its neighborhood.

There are 201 units in total, each with from one to eight bedrooms.

Performance vs. Acting

In performance-uri si in workshop-uri, pe strada, lingand asfaltul, sau in discutii “serioase” cu diversi alti artisti contemporani. In fine, Marina este aici si acum, ca urmare a ultimei sale

performance art piece that has been going on at MOMA for the past couple of months: The Artist is Present.
