Carolee Schneemann: carne proaspata
Cand nimeni nu va mai fi sa intrebe, cine va fi cel ce va avea curajul sa raspunda?
Ce-ar fi fost filmul experimental si arta performance-ului fara Carolee Schneemann? Se implinesc anul acesta 70 de ani de la nasterea sa, asa ca Lanternativa s-a gandit sa-i ofere dezgustatoarei feministe un pios omagiu.
I wanted to draw the momentum of the body,
spunea ea intr-un interviu. Probabil ca multi dintre Dumneavoastra o cunoasteti pe Carolee datorita filmelor sale - Meat Joy (1964), nu? - si mai putin desenelor / schitelor sale private raspandite prin tot felul de caietele, carnetele etc. Tocmai de aceea m-am gandit sa crap (e un cuvant care imi place mult) aceasta prezentare in doua: in prima parte sa va “delectez” cu niste picturi expuse foarte recent, iar in a doua cu niste schite realizate de dansa pe cand avea vreo 4 ani.

Anuntau desenele lui Schneemann pe viitoarea “obsedata” de orgii, orgasme si corpuri innodate etern? Probabil ca da, probabil ca nu, probabil ca nu conteaza chiar de loc. In schimb arata intensa sa preocupare pentru corp, toate schitele sale (cel putin cele pe care i le-am vazut eu) continand corpuri umane in miscare, in (ne)miscare, in (de)miscare.
Nimic nu era care sa nu contina un corp.
si spunea:
It’s miraculous. Your energy carries through your little hand and something exists that didn’t exist before.
I was looking at Cézanne’s stroke - not just how he painted but how his form evolved, having to construct form. Cézanne is struggling with a multiple dimensionality in his perception of form. Which is why it’s so alive. I saw each stroke as a compression of light, motion, and shifting space in time. Cézanne introduced that huge question of instability.
One could discover vision in many different artists. For you, why was it Cézanne?
Because the body would enter in the FRACTURE.
