Aici, fiecare se transforma in dansator.

Din cate stiu, pana acum a aparut un singur volumas dedicat in exclusivitate acestei constructii.

Cateva extrase dintr-un superb interviu luat lui Virilio de catre  Sylvère Lotringer: After Architecture: A Conversation (Grey Room, No. 3 (Spring, 2001), pp. 32-53):

I think that architecture has always been developed within forms that are ordered: the sphere, the cylinder, the cube, etc. However, ordered forms and surfaces are a kind of geometric academicism. There have been different periods of architecture, but the geometric formalism has remained. Most architects have limited themselves to Euclidean forms, i.e., the orthogonal. The idea is to create an architecture that plays off of disequilibrium. The model to be followed is not Vitruvian man, nor man of Le Corbusier’s Modulor; it’s the dancer. What puts us into a situation of disequilibrium is the inclined plane. We are always in the process of restructuring ourselves.

The relation to the body in the oblique function is the dancer, the actor. It wasn’t academic.

In the future we will see completely oblique houses.

The tyranny of the right angle.

You can’t construct space without constructing time, without raising the question of the use of time and the use of space.

People were afraid to live in the oblique.

Portret de barbat (II)

…the profile of Dante, only a little softened and blurred, in more gentle, supple traits, as Watteau or Fragonard wold have painted it, except for the nose with strong, rigid, motionless nostrils under the short, narrow brow, as if made of marble, so hard and decisive, topped by smooth bangs. Brown, merry, trusting eyes of a girl, in which there was something reflective, hopeful, and quizzical mixed in with a naive coquetry, the kind that loves wry, sidelong glances; short, thick, shapeless lips, malicious and cruel, the bottom one turned inside out and hanging down so that one sees the gum. A fine, slender, pageboy body of gymnastic grace, flexible as a willow switch, and preferring to bend forward slightly  in round lines, with the falling shoulders of those of sophisticated culture.

We smiled in sympathy with the music, and perhaps one day people will smile at us.
